Things are finally getting finished!

So my dress is ready to be picked up. I went in for a 2nd fitting a few weeks ago and that day was crazy in itself because of car trouble but it turned out okay. I finished all the bouquets, boutonnieres, ties, David's vest/tie, and my sash. Plus I made David a cummerbund and bow-tie. So I guess he now has a choice of what he wants to wear for the wedding, lol.

I had my Bridal Shower yesterday! Thank You best friend and my Maid of Honor, Amber Carnes. You are awesome. The shower was fun and everyone enjoyed it. Thank you all those that came and thank you for the gifts. I am sure they will be very useful.

About a place now, well David found us a 2 Bedroom, 1 Bath house to rent. It comes with a stove, Refrigerator, Washer and Dryer; water, trash, and sewage included in the rent. We just have to pay for gas and electric. The house is on the corner of an intersection. There is no driveway, but it is a nice place just for us two. He did a good job finding us a place. I'm proud of him.

Ohh packing. Haha. Well David's work has supplied us with a Uhaul Truck and tow hitch for moving to Wyoming. Also they provided us with boxes and any other supplies we needed. I got boxes (probably way too many) and am going to start packing now because I finally have the sewing done.

I got my Temple Recommend and temple clothes too. David purchased a plane ticket to fly down for the wedding. All theses things make it really seem like the wedding is getting closer, which it is. Since today is basically over I will say that there is only 19 more days until the wedding. Gosh, these days are going to go faster than I know it.

A Dress and More

So last week I went and picked out a dress. It's perfect and I love it. Alterations of course are being done. Although I need to go for another fitting to make sure the sleeves fit okay. I will do that in the next day or so. Also I sent out most all of my Wedding Invitations. They turned out good. I hope everyone gets theirs.

I finished my last finals and am done with school for a little while until I get a little settled. Moving and getting married will make me miss taking 2 quarters or 1 semester but its ok. It's nice to have a break at least once, right?

I have made 4 out of 6 bouquets and have started making ties, got 2 done. I will keep working on them and also work on David's vest and tie. It's kind of a bigger project than I thought it would be, but it keeps me busy, lol.

David is doing well with work and is enjoying it. I'm glad he likes it and is safe. He is doing things up there for us too. He is looking for a place and trying to get acquainted with the city. He works a lot but is getting paid, so that's good.

Things are looking fine with plans, projects, and oh..I still have to start packing. Haha. Gosh, there is a lot to do. All things will get done though. I just know it.

David's in Wyoming

So David is gone now for two months, until the wedding. He will come back to California to get married, then take me with him to Wyoming. He started the on-the-job paid training today for his new job as a Pump Technician for Halliburton in Rock Springs, Wy. He had been trying and praying hard for a job there and he finally got it. I'm very proud of him for sticking through the hard times and being determined to get it.

Well all the wedding stuff is going good. I have most all of the invitations done. I need to register at Target still, which I plan to do today. I still need to get a dress though. Anyone know where I can get a modest wedding dress in Southern California? If you do, please let me know. I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

More Wedding Stuff

So I have been really busy getting things for the Wedding. I have purchased the table decorations, Invitation supplies, and a few other things. The Invitations are coming along well. I have made a sample invitation to make sure everything will look good and the font size is right. (The invitations are cute!) I hope to get them sent out as soon as I am able to finish them, lol. This week I plan to go look at wedding dresses and to get the one I want.

David leaves for Wyoming friday, the day after Thanksgiving. =/  But it will be good because he will start working and earning money to be able to get an apartment out there. Gosh, I better start packing. Moving and the wedding is going to come faster than I know it.

Planning

Yesterday (Oct. 27, 2011) my Best Friend Amber Carnes, my maid of honor, came over to help plan for the Wedding and Bridal Shower. We got a lot of things planned, like food, decorations, invitations, and other fun things. It is good that we have things planned now because we can actually go shopping for stuff and get things together. David, I think, was pretty much bored and didnt feel adequate enough to help so in the meantime he fell asleep and took a nap.

The date for the Bridal Shower is Jan. 7, 2012 and the Wedding date is Jan. 28, 2012.

The Proposal

So everyone is probably wondering how it all happened when we got engaged. Well here is the story from my point of view (This is Elissa speaking).

Saturday afternoon on October 15, 2011, David and I went up to Crestline to take down the sticky notes on the wall, that I put up in surprise to his mission homecoming, in his room. It took a while but we finished it. John (David's cousin) was happy about it, lol (he's living in the room now). It was just about dinner time when we finished, but David had planned a meal to cook together up there at Wendy's (David's aunt). So we made chicken wraps and a broccoli salad. We ate it with juice boxes and m.'n.m cookies. It was very good. Then we went on a night Hike. I love going on night hikes!

When we got to the top and to a spot David had picked out, he had me sit down on a log while he set up something; I didn't look because it was a surprise. When he was done there was a string of Christmas lights between 2 trees. He used a battery to power them. Then he set up some small speakers with an mp3 player, too. We danced! I Love Dancing too! Haha. We danced to some slow songs and some fast ones too. It was wonderful. Then the last 2 songs were slow ones. The very last one was the song I wrote (I wrote it and a friend of ours put music to it and sang. The song is copyrighted). I was very happy. The date was amazing, but that's not the end of it. After my song played, he called my name out, said I love you while getting down on one knee. Then he took my hand started putting a ring on it and said "Will You Marry Me?"

I couldn't believe it was happening. It felt unreal, I was so happy. I started crying and I said "YES! Yes I will!" Then he got up and we hugged/kissed. I told him I Love You. I couldn't stop smiling. After that I helped him take down the lights and speakers. Once everything was put back into the backpack, we hiked back down. We went up Boyfriend/Girlfriend and came back fiances.

It was one of the Best Hikes I had ever gone on. I will never forget it!

Well since then we have set a date, made an appointment at the Temple we are getting sealed in, reserved the Church building for the reception, and started our Registration of gifts. We already have our colors picked out too. Now its just getting all the other things. We are still excited and know that time will go by so quickly. Oh, its the beginning of a new chapter in our lives. I love it.
